Description
Offered is an American colonial era coin silver serving spoon by the noted Philadelphia silversmith Daniel Dupuy (1719-1807). This large spoon is 9 1/4" long and in very good condition with essentially no wear. The crisp edge of the bowl is amazing for a spoon of this age. Engraved TWM on the handle. This is offered together with a teaspoon by the same maker with the same engraved initials. Larger spoon is marked D Dupuy, the smaller spoon DD. The serving spoon is in exceptional condition, the teaspoon bowl is slightly misshapen but could be easily restored. Large spoon weighs 54.2g, small spoon 11.2g.
