Early American Coin Silver Sauce Boat or Creamer John & Peter Targee New York, NY c1809-14
Presented is a stunning classic American coin silver sauce boat or creamer made c1809-1814. This is a hand hammered crafted item in a rounded rectangle shape with neoclassical with four lion paw feet and an engraved motif of draped foliage with a period monogram of JR. Made In New York, New York it is an excellent example of early American art and silver smithing with only a few minor dents in the bottom and one in side. The lion paw feet appear to have been slightly pushed into the bottom. I have included photos from my research of the hallmarks. This creamer is over 200 years old and ready to be used!!!
