    Description

    Presented is a handsome and very large American coin silver fish server by the New York silversmith, J. W. Forbes. The fish server has a nice English kings design on the handle. It is monogrammed EMJ on the end of the handle. The server was made around the 1840s, not more recent than the 1850s.
    The server is hallmarked on the back of the blade with a maker’s mark for J. W. Forbes. Both the blade and the handle are solid coin silver.
    The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no dings, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
    The server is 12 1/2 inches long. This piece is huge.
    The weight is 165.3 grams or 5.8 ounces.
