Description
ANTIQUE CIRCA 1860s ERA, CURRIER & TROTT, BOSTON, MA USA,COIN (90%) SILVER, "OLIVE" PATTERN NAME / DESIGN,
8-1/2" LONG, GOLD WASH SHELL BOWL, SERVING SPOON
IT IS ENGRAVED ON THE BACK "ADAMS",
TOTAL WEIGHT OF 62.2 GRAMS
It is engraved on the back of the handle with the full name ADAMS, otherwise, it shows light wear from use and storage, including typical minor surface marks, scratches, and it retains a light patina over the silver surface due to aging. It shines nice as it is, is very clean, is straight, not bent, with no major issues at all.
It is a really nice designed piece, with the bowl in a gold wash shell style. I did some research, and I correctly believe this to be called the Olive pattern or design name. It is hallmarked on the back of the handle CURRIER & TROTT PURE COIN. Currier & Trott was in business in Boston, MA from circa 1830s - 1860s. We did perform a stone and acid test and it confirms 90% purity silver.
This is a really great, very collectible piece whether you own a set of silver from this exact pattern or you collect unique USA coin silver, especially pieces from this maker or the Northeast USA! It looks beautiful in person! Add it to your collection today!
