    Description

    Presented is a fine and large American coin silver serving spoon or tablespoon made by Clement Beecher. Beecher was born in 1778 and died in 1869. He worked as a silversmith in Berlin, Cheshire, and Meriden, Connecticut. The spoon is done in a traditional Coffin End design with the old original monogram of DRP on the end of the handle. The spoon was made around 1805 to 1815.
    The spoon is marked C. Beecher on the reverse for the maker.
    The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
    The spoon is 9 1/2 inches long. This spoon is quite large.
    The weight is 43.5 grams or 1.5 ounces.
