    He worked from 1841 to 1843 as a journeyman watchmaker in New York City NY where he had served an apprenticeship beginning around 1834.
    He was a partner from 1843 to 1850 with James E. and William Bliss Brinsmaid in Burlington VT as BRINSMAID’S.
