Description
Up for bid is an 18th
century coin silver buckle with a partial initial mark. The buckle measures 2 5/8 inches by 2 1/2 inches and weighs 31 grams.
The buckle is cast and formed with a pierced edge and faceted beads for the look of cut steel.
It has a single thin round steel bar across the center.
It has a poorly struck mark on the back near the cross bar.
It may be [_S], but that is just a guess.
Condition on the buckle is quite good.
There is no real damage, just the normal wear
of age and use. There are some minor rust spots form the steel rod.
A fine old
buckle!
