Description
Early A. E. Warner Coin Silver Mayflower Dinner Fork. The engraved scrolling acanthus leaf design on this piece was a common motif used in Baltimore from the mid 19th century forward. It eventually became standardized in the Mayflower line pattern produced by Kirk-Stieff. This fork was made by Andrew Ellicott Warner, a prominent silversmith working in Baltimore, MD from 1805-1870. It is stamped with his name, along with the peculiar-to-Baltimore "11" ounce standard mark, indicating a silver content slightly greater than coin and less than sterling. In beautiful estate condition with very clear engraving. Monogrammed D in fancy, flowing script. Weighs 54 g., 7 3/4” long. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
