    Description

Length: 8-1/2”. Offered for sale without reserve is a fantastic example Southern coin silver form. This large serving spoon bears a striking resemblance to the work of Jonathan Simpson who worked in various cities in Kentucky between 1830 and 1862. This piece is in excellent condition showing little wear to the tip as seen in the scan. I have never polished this piece because I’ve actually enjoyed the patina that it has taken. I am also certain that this piece is Kentucky based on the placement of the fancy monogram on the handle. This is a large piece. The serving spoon weighs 54.4grms. I will ship anywhere in the US for .95.
NOTE: I received a note from a trusted source on the subject of KY silver who advised that the piece is likely not Simpson's work (which I too believe) but was made in the vicinity.
