    Description

Up for bid is a Philadelphia coin silver teaspoon by Thomas Whartenby, working ca. 1811-1852. The spoon is 5 7/8 inches long and weighs 22 grams. The spoon has a swaged shovel-shaped drop, flared shoulders and a downturned fiddle handle.  The spoon is monogrammed “MAH” on the handle front.  The spoon is marked [WHARTENBY] in a rectangle.
Condition on the spoon is fairly good.  There are some shallow bowl dents but nothing too bad.  A good quality coin silver spoon!
