Repousse Domed Butter Dish 11 Oz Coin Silver Kirk Son 1870 Eagle Crest
S. Kirk & Son coin silver butter dish with domed cover, featuring repousse floral and foliate patterns with flower form finial handle. Dish stands on 4 applied feet in matching foliate designs. On the front of the cover, there is an engraved Eagle crest. Dish has Baltimore 11 oz silver assay mark (.917 silver). c. 1870.
This outstanding dish is 8" in diameter (service area is 5 1/2" in diameter), 7" tall and weighs 661.3 grams or 21.3 ozs Troy.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
