    Description

Excellent Southern coin silver tablespoon made and marked by renowned Federal period silversmith Frederick Marquand, who worked both in Savannah, Georgia, and New York City. In addition to the maker's name, F. Marquand, the
lion-bust-G pseudo hallmark that appears on this spoon is attributed to articles made by Frederick Marquand himself during production of wares in Savannah, Georgia, with the letters C-G representing the years 1821-1826.
Fiddle handle with a pronounced curve, tipped.  The spoon bears a script monogram.
The spoon is in very good condition overall, with age-appropriate wear.  A very slight bruise to bowl and a subtle bend on one edge of the bowl.  Black marks are attributable to my limitations as a photographer.
    Dimensions:  8 1/2"L, 50 grams.
    All returns cheerfully accepted.
