    Description

Up for bid is a set of six coin silver teaspoons with an unusual eagle mark. The spoons are 5 3/8 inches long and together weigh 54 grams. The spoons have no drops, small pointed shoulders and downturned rounded fiddle handles.  The spoons are monogrammed “B” on the handle fronts as shown.  The spoons are marked [Star][Eagle][Star], a mark tentatively attributed to Phineas Carlton of Haverhills, Massachusetts by Tousey, but left unattributed by Catherine Hollan in her book on eagle marks.
Condition on the spoons is fairly good.  One bowl is a bit chewed, while the others have a few minor dings or none at all.  There is some very minor bowl-tip wear, some handle bends, as well as normal wear from use.  An interesting set of coin silver spoons!
