Description
These spoons are very old, c.1819-1835.The maker, Dusenberry, was a respected silver maker in the state of New York.
They have a form of decoration that is not often seen - a basket of flowers on the top FRONT of the handle. There are “picture back” spoons, of course, and those are rare, but with these teaspoons the decoration is on the BACK of the handle, which makes these spoons rare.
Another interesting feature of these teaspoons is a series of engraved rays on the back just below where the handle meets the bowl.
The spoons are in good condition. There are some issues that come with being almost two hundred years old. One has a small crease in the bowl and the other has what looks to be some small pits near the tip of the bowl.
Both have a monogram (EAE) just below the basket. The spoons are approximately 6 1/8” long. These are very interesting spoons in a design form that is not often seen.
Price is per pair of teaspoons.
